Methodology Development:Improving Results FocusMethodology and methodology development have been Scanteam "core concerns" for many years. We have contributed to a number of handbooks through the years, including Norad's "Logical Framework Approach", which has been translated into a number of other languages. The concern has all the time been on appropriate and constructive use of good methodological tools. We spend considerable time updating ourselves on what is happening in fields such as indicator development, risk analyses and management and organisational change management. We keep in touch with both international and national organisations concerned with methodology use, from Norway's Auditor-General's office to local NGOs, organising workshops to exchange experiences and identify "good practice" approaches that can help different actors improve the results of their development cooperation efforts.

Evaluation HandbooksScanteam has written evaluation handbooks for Norway, Denmark, Spain and Japan. We were also contracted to act as secretariat to the OECD-DAC for upgrading its “Evaluation Glossary” in 2002. This work has been based both on the knowledge of “good practice” evaluation approaches discussed and promoted by the DAC, but primarily on our extensive evaluation experience acquired through the years.
